ON A LYRICAL JOURNEY – IN PLAYLIST FORM
THIS PLAYLIST!! Usually, I’m not a lyric person. I usually listen to the rhythm, the tempo and enjoy the overall feel of a song, but lately, the lyrics in these songs have cut through all that and tell a story and relay feeling and emotions that just elevates the songs in this playlist. In this June edition of the E.Y.P. playlist, we explore and go on a musical and lyrical journey with these songs I have come across that are lyrically intense and emotional.
These songs will make you laugh, it will definitely make you cry. They will make you think of your youth, of your youth that has passed, past choices, past regrets, sacrifices that were made and those that weren’t. These songs will also make you think about your past loves, those you still question about and those you realize were not meant to be. It’s a heavy playlist but one so stacked, we had to split it to 2 parts, with each being a 16-song playlist.
I hope you take some time and take a listen to this playlist, it’s one of our biggest and favorite playlists to make so far. It includes music by new and rising bands and artists as well as some established artists that don’t need our help, but I had to add because the music was so essential. If you enjoy this playlist, please like and share.
Hey everyone! This is Ed from Expand Your Playlist. Follow my journey as I scour the online interwebs and musical algorithms on a search for new music. Already 9 years into my mission, I’m on a search for seldom played artists, independent musicians, and new music that just needs to be played and listened to, as I try to Expand My Playlist without having to charge people to be in them or deny them for not having enough followers. Our playlists aren’t just an outlet to randomly place songs to get views, likes, or streams. Our Spotify playlists and blog posts are carefully curated to provide to you, the listener, the best playlist possible for you to listen to and discover new music so you can yourself… Expand Your Playlist!
In this jam-packed playlist, we have more music by bands and artists new to EYP, as well as some returning musicians, music by band who are staple artists to E.Y.P., and well as established artists that don’t need to be on this platform, but the music is good that we just had to share with you. All this and a whole lot more in this 6th edition of the Expand Your Playlist, Playlist for June 2024.
Thank You and Enjoy!

Song: “TKO”

TKO LEGENDS
Not many good things have come out from the Covid-19 pandemic, except for the music of Durry. Hailing from Burnsville, Minnesota, Austin and Taryn’s musical story started when Austin and his wife moved in with his parents during that difficult time. Taryn was living there at the time, and when things were not happening at all in the world, they turned to music for help which spawned their creativity and also into them releasing their debut Indie/Rock/Pop/Punk album “Suburban Legend” in 2023. We became introduced to them with their first single off the album and a rising pop/punk anthem “Who’s Laughing Now”. We have featured that song off the album as well as the song “I’m Fine (No Really)”. And now they hit us with “TKO”, which is my favorite song off the album because the lyrics hit close to home with my occasionally low self-esteem. It’s a great song to scream in the car while driving… or parked.

ITS OVER NOW
Yes, we are aware that Billie Eilish is not a new artist with her several albums and Grammy and Oscar wins. She definitely does not need EYP, but many of the artists on these playlists and especially artists on this very playlist have been influenced by Billie’s music. You can tell by just listening. So, although she doesn’t need to be on this playlist, we loved this track so much that we added “L’Amour De Ma Vie” to the playlist because it’s a beautiful song about heartbreak, self-discovery and revenge, as it turns into a Weeknd style club banger. This is off her new album “Hit Me Hard and Soft”, available now.
