In the 7th edition of the EYP Playlist for July 2024, we continue from the June playlist, featuring more Indie Pop & Rock tracks from bands and artists globally, including local talents from EYP’s headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.

THE NEW SOUND OF INDIE ROCK
Chloe Slater is a rising alternative music artist from Manchester, known for her poignant lyricism and energetic alt-rock sound. At just 21 years old, she has made a significant impact with her debut EP “You Can’t Put A Price On Fun.” Her music often tackles contemporary social and political issues, reflecting the discontent of the younger generation, especially in post-Brexit Britain. THEY’RE FROM L.A.
L.A. rock legends, Go Betty Go, are a Latina punk rock band formed in 2000 in Glendale, California. The band features Betty Cisneros on guitar, Nicolette Vilar on vocals, Michelle Rangel on bass, and Aixa Vilar on drums. They quickly gained attention in the L.A. punk scene, performing at local venues and later achieving national recognition with their energetic performances and critically acclaimed music. They still are out there performing to this day with other local L.A. bands such as The Reflectors, The Two Tens, and The Dollyrots!

The band released their first full-length album, “Nothing is More,” in 2005. However, they faced challenges when Nicolette Vilar left the band, leading to a hiatus. They reunited in 2012 and continued to release music, including their 2015 EP “Reboot”.

Go Betty Go recently returned with the new singles, “Keep Up,” and “We Talk A Lot” as they announce their upcoming album “Black and Blue,” set to release in 2024. The album’s creation was marked by Betty Cisneros’ battle with Stage 4 cancer, which brought the band closer together as they support her through treatment. Betty continues to battle and fight the disease as she also contributes to the new album with the writing and performing of the new songs on the album.

INTRODUCING… THE REFLECTORS
The Reflectors are a power pop band from Los Angeles known for their energetic blend of punk rock and melodic hooks. Formed by James Carman, Nick Faciane, Ryan Miranda, and Johnny Reyes, they draw inspiration from classic bands like the Buzzcocks and The Nerves. Their debut album, “First Impression,” released in 2020, showcased their vibrant sound. They continued to build on their momentum with subsequent releases, including the album “Faster Action” in 2021, solidifying their presence in the modern power pop scene. IN 2024 the released their latest album “Going Out Of Fashion”, which includes this single “All The Way Down”.

THEY REALLY HAD IT COMING
Bad Mary is a high-energy punk rock band known for their dynamic performances and catchy, rebellious songs. Originating from Long Island, New York, the band features Amanda Mac on vocals, Mike Staub on bass, David Henderson on guitar, and Bill Mac on drums. Bad Mary’s sound is influenced by classic punk rock bands, and they have garnered a dedicated following with their spirited live shows and engaging presence in the punk rock scene.

“Don’t Know Where the Line Is” was originally released on the 2013 album “Better Days”. They have re-recorded a new version of the song, which the video in now available on their YouTube and social media pages. At the time of this post, the new version of the song has not been released, so we are featuring the 2013 version as a place holder until we can get our hands on the 2024 version. With either version, it’s still a great song and a quick punch in the face at 1 minute and 46 seconds.
