MOVE FORWARD TO THE PAST WITH THESE OLDIES BUT NEWIES.
Curated and compiled by Ed Gomez
In this second edition of the “Oldies But Newies” playlist, we take a musical trip to the past while firmly staying in present day as we discover and explore a genre of music that recreates and pays tribute to the R&B and Retro Soul sounds of the past.
The bands and artists in these playlists, pay tribute while creating their own sound with music that pays tribute to the 50s, 60s, & 70s soul, funk, doowop, jazz, and indie pop and indie soul sounds. The music played in these playlists comes to us from recent bands and artists from the 2010s and 2020s. The style of the music is categorized as “Oldies”, but they have been recently recorded and released, which make them indie new music, or “Newies”.
Straying from our usual Indie music selections, this playlist evokes a sense of nostalgia and presents an intriguing musical genre to delve into. We invite you to embark on this journey with us, affectionately dubbed “Oldies But Newies.”
We hope you enjoy this playlist. If you do, let us know. Join us on this journey as we take a left turn and continue to help you… Expand your Playlist.
