Music by…

DESPERATE HAUSWIVES
“The Ballad of Edie Britt”
@thedesperatehauswives
desperatehauswives.bandcamp.com
Separate, Fiona Grey and Talker are already a dangerous musical force with their own style of music, blending catchy and powerful pop and rock songs to their respective discographies. But when you combine the together… you get something fun and lethal. You get the DESPERATE HAUSWIVES!
Desperate Hauswives are a Los Angeles–based indie‑rock/pop duo created by Fiona Grey and Celeste Taucher (aka talker), known for their campy, theatrical songs inspired entirely by the TV show Desperate Housewives. Their music blends humor, alt‑pop, and chaotic suburban drama, and they released their debut EP “Welcome to the Lane” in 2024. “The Ballad of Edie Britt” is the fourth track we have featured from the duo with previous tracks being “Another Dead Husband”, “BOY JOY”, and “Hot For Mike”.

She has always been on our radar, and we are thrilled we can finally add her to our NPNS playlist with her song from that 2024 EP, “I Love You But It Hurts Like Hell”.

EYP STAPLE ARTISTS: CALVA LOUISE
How can we express our love for this band? They mean a lot to our own personal rock music collection. We have followed their music career since 2018 since their feature in NPNS #6 and since then they have blown up the rock world with their music and live shows. Not only are they EYP STAPLE ARTISTS, “Lo Que Vale” makes it their 20th song that we have featured on Expand Your Playlist!
Calva Louise are a multilingual, genre‑bending alternative rock band based in London, known for fusing metal, punk, electronica, and art‑rock into a cinematic, sci‑fi‑driven universe. A multicultural lineup from Venezuela, France, and New Zealand, united in London’s underground scene. They’ve released four full‑length albums, tour internationally, and are led creatively by vocalist/multi‑media artist Jess Allanic and include Ben Parker on drums, and Alizon Taho on Bass. If we made a listen of bands we recommend, they would be on the top of that list!

THE VELVETEERS
“Take It From The Top”
@thevelveteers

The band consists of Demi Demitro on vocals and guitar, Johnny Fig on Drums and Baby Pottersmith also on Drums.
In NPNS #36, they made their EYP debut with “Death Hex,” a track from 2016. Today’s feature is “Take It From the Top,” from their 2025 album “A Million Knives”. Expect to hear more from that album in upcoming NPNS playlists!

MAPLE’S PET DINOSAUR
“Chorus”
@maplespetdinosaur
Maple’s Pet Dinosaur is the project of 14‑year‑old Australian musician Maple Johns — a punk‑alt‑rock breakout whose debut single “Lego” went massively viral thanks to a no‑budget Ring‑camera music video. Her sound blends ’90s alt‑rock, punk attitude, and Beastie Boys‑style rhythmic vocals, and she’s already become one of Australia’s fastest‑rising new artists. A perfect fit for “No Paper. No Scissors”. This is her second release “Chorus”.

ROSECOLOREDWORLD
“Rock Bottom Has a Basement”
@rcwofficial
rosecolored.world
rosecoloredworld is a Los Angeles–based alt‑rock/pop‑punk duo formed by Addison and Rae, known for huge hooks, emotionally honest lyrics, and a strong community‑driven identity. They blend early‑2000s pop‑punk nostalgia with modern alt‑pop polish, positioning themselves as one of LA’s rising DIY‑to‑pro crossover acts.
“Rock Bottom Has a Basement” is their second song featured on EYP. They debuted on our playlist last year on our “The Listening Station” playlist with their track “Hanging On (by a thread)”.

WEEKEND LOVERS
“Masks”
@weekendloversaz

Weekend Lovers are a Tucson, Arizona based dream‑pop/indie‑rock band, fronted by Marta DeLeon. They are known for their lush, emotional songwriting with a desert-noir edge. “Masks” is one of the standout tracks from their 2025 album “In Your Dreams“, which also included previously featured song “Rad Red”.
Weekend Lovers made their EYP debut in 2022/2023 with a cover of George Michael’s “Father Figure” and their own track “The Beaters.” They are definitely becoming one of our go-to bands for genuine indie rock.

REALITY SUITE
“These Fears”
@realitysuite
realitysuite.com
EYP STAPLE ARTISTS
One of our go-to rock bands is Reality Suite, a modern hard‑rock group from New Jersey known for blending classic rock power with slick contemporary production, fronted by vocalist Kimmii Heart. Over the past decade, they’ve built their career through DIY hustle, great musicianship, and a signature “modern‑vintage” sound that’s won over both critics, fans, and this very music platform. They’ve been a staple in our playlists since 2016, starting with their track “Save My Life.”
In 2019, when we kicked off this project as a podcast, Episode #76 opened with their song “Kiss the Ring,” complete with a personal intro from Kimmii herself, making them one of the spotlight artists for that episode. We’re proud to count them among our EYP STAPLE ARTISTS, and we featured them again in 2026 with their latest track, “These Fears.”

TOMORROW’S ANTHEM
“Wrong”
@tomorrowsanthem

The track marks a noticeable step forward in songwriting and production for the band, leaning into a heavier, more polished modern‑rock sound.
