It isn’t a true EYP playlist without music from Freedom Fry. We’ve been featuring their songs and following their musical and personal journey since 2016, showcasing 34 of their tracks during that time. There’s no sign of slowing down, as this playlist includes even more of their music with the release of their latest album “Best Friends,” now available. As you can see above, we’ve highlighted a lot of their music. In this playlist, we’re featuring more songs from their new album, such as the title track “Best Friends”.

Freedom Fry is a French-American indie pop duo consisting of Marie Seyrat (from Paris) and Bruce Driscoll (from Michigan). Their name playfully nods to the political term from the early 2000s, but their music is anything but polarizing—think light, melodic, and irresistibly catchy. Known for Seyrat’s soft, whispery vocals and Driscoll’s multi-instrumental production, the duo formed in Los Angeles in 2011 after Seyrat styled a video for Driscoll’s other band, Blondfire. Their sound mixes folk, ‘60s/’70s pop, and modern indie rock, often featuring bilingual lyrics in English and French. They are one of our ultimate Staple Artists, with their music being an essential part of our yearly lineup and the foundation of what we play here on Expand Your Playlist.

Sticky&Tomaty is a Japanese band that blends alternative rock with character animation, creating a dreamy, rebellious, and emotionally charged experience. They launched in January 2025, and their music is described as a fusion of grunge, electronic, dreampop, ambient, and more. The band is fronted by Sota Goto, who handles everything—from lyrics and composition to vocals, track production, and artwork. Their visual identity revolves around two animated characters, Tomaty, and floating red tomato and Sticky, a gooey green blob.

These characters embody a concept called Reverism, an art movement invented by Goto that blurs the line between dream and reality.

Their debut album, Second Life, explores themes like rebellion, self-indulgence, and hope for the future. Their latest single, “AURA MAXX, dropped in June 2025, continuing their dreamy, genre-bending style.
