luciaandthebestboys.co.uk
Since 2017 ’til today, Lucia and the Best Boys have been a big part of our playlist building throughout our many versions of EYP. So much so that they are one of our EYP STAPLE ARTISTS! Lucia & The Best Boys formed in Glasgow, with the current lineup including Lucia Fairfull, Ally Scott, Christopher Ballantyne, and Adam Campbell. Fairfull is the creative center of the band, shaping its sonic evolution and visual world. Before adopting the full band name, the project performed simply as Lucia, and even earlier, Fairfull used the moniker Lucia Fontaine.
They return with new music in 2026 with their latest track “Lonely Girl” featuring Lauren Mayberry. With this song, it makes it the 17th time they have been featured on an EYP playlist.

SKYDXDDY
“Hate Me”
@skydxddymusic
skydxddy.com
SkyDxddy is an alt‑pop / trap‑rock artist whose work blends raw emotional storytelling with aggressive, cathartic production. She’s become one of the most recognizable voices in the emerging “traumacore” movement — a term she uses to describe music that confronts trauma, survival, and emotional reclamation with unfiltered honesty. Her rise accelerated with the release of her album “Trauma‑Core”, which she describes as a space for listeners who’ve lived through the worst moments of their lives and need something to “scream and cry to.”
“Hate Me” is one of SkyDxddy’s most intense and defining Traumacore-era tracks, released on February 13, 2026, and built around themes of domestic violence, emotional manipulation, power reclamation, and survival. It’s a song that turns the aftermath of an abusive relationship into a moment of defiance and self‑ownership.

CARR
“Mud”
@carrmusic
carrmusic.bandcamp.com
CARR is a Los Angeles–based indie‑pop/alt‑rock artist known for mixing sharp, witty storytelling with the emotional edge of early‑2000s pop‑punk and the intimacy of modern bedroom‑pop. She’s gained a rapidly growing fanbase by turning messy dating stories, self‑deprecating humor, and raw honesty into infectious, hook‑filled tracks. Born Carly McClellan, she’s been releasing music since 2019, evolving from her DIY indie roots into a polished, confident alt‑pop presence.
“Mud” is a post‑situationship gut punch wrapped in a catchy pop melody. The song captures the moment when someone who seemed genuinely into you suddenly pulls away, leaving you confused, annoyed, and still a little romantic about the whole thing.

METRIC
“Victim Of Luck”
@metric
ilovemetric.com
Metric may not be a new band, but chances are they’ve made it onto a few of your 2000s / 2010s alternative playlists if you’re familiar with them. With brand new music already out and a new album on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to get acquainted with this iconic group if they’re not already on your radar.
Metric are a Canadian indie‑rock and new‑wave band formed in 1998, known for blending sharp synth textures, guitar‑driven rock, and emotionally incisive songwriting. Fronted by Emily Haines, they’ve become one of the most influential indie bands of the 2000s and 2010s, with a catalog that spans club‑ready synth anthems, political art‑rock, and introspective electronic landscapes.
They are known for their hit songs and playlist staples such as “Help I’m Alive,” “Gimme Sympathy,” “Gold Guns Girls”, and “Black Sheep.”
“Victim of Luck” is off their upcoming album “Romanticize the Dive” which will be released on April 24th, 2026 by Metric Music International.

ANNIE TAYLOR
“Lucidity”
@annietaylorband
annietaylorband.com
Annie Taylor are a Swiss alternative‑rock band from Zürich, known for a sound that fuses grunge, psychedelic rock, and indie energy into something loud, dreamy, and emotionally charged.
Annie Taylor’s “Lucidity” is a fuzzy, grunge‑tinted indie‑rock track about losing time, losing clarity, and slipping in and out of emotional focus, released on February 13, 2026 as part of their upcoming album “Out of Scale.” It’s one of their most atmospheric and lyrically vivid songs to date, pairing psychedelic rock textures with a restless, late‑night emotional spiral.
Funny enough, no one in the band in named “Annie Taylor”. Their name is a playful nod to the daredevil Annie Edson Taylor, the first person to survive going over Niagara Falls in a barrel—fitting for a band that leans into risk, grit, and emotional intensity.

Sludge Mother is the project of Cami Petyn, a San Diego–born artist who describes herself as a Pisces who loves “raw, intense & honest music.” She originally coined the name as a joke—calling herself “ur sludge mommy” because of her obsession with heavy, sludgy music—but the name stuck and became her full artistic identity. She is currently independent (not signed) and building momentum through streaming, viral videos, and a strong visual brand.
“Antidote” is the fourth song that we have featured of hers, and the second track off her debut EP “How Can Anything Bloom?“, available everywhere.
