The Flagship has been Restored.
Since 2015, “The Listening Station” playlists have gone by different names, but the theme and spirit have stayed the same. The name comes from the days when music stores were everywhere, offering “Listening Stations” — kiosks or cozy spots where you could preview any CD before buying it or just explore new sounds. That’s exactly what these playlists aim to do: give you a chance to sample fresh music from up-and-coming artists, discover new sounds, and ultimately expand your own playlists.
We recently went back to the beginning, re-numbered, and organized all the playlists in this series, bringing us to the 145th edition of “The Listening Station” playlists.
In this edition, we present to you new music by previously featured artists that we have grown to love and build our playlists around with artists & bands such as Freedom Fry, Yonaka, Baker Grace, Inji, Durand Jones & The Indications, Brass Against, and The Beaches. We also feature older tracks from the catalogs of Karen Dió and Go Betty Go. Also, we give you brand new songs by Paris Jackson and “Artist New To EYP”, Victoria Canal.
If you enjoy this and other genre playlist series we create, and you’re curious about the current indie music scene, plus you’re in a band and want to be featured, send us your music!

VICTORIA CANAL
“DOG.”
@victoriacanal
As I randomly scrolled through Instagram, I saw a clip of Simon Pegg yelling his lungs out while recording something for a music project. The yelling was an excerpt for the song “DOG.” by Victoria Canal.
Victoria Canal is a Spanish‑American singer‑songwriter, born in Munich Germany, known for her soul‑piercing vocals, intimate songwriting, and bold vulnerability. She has become one of the most compelling voices in indie pop and alt‑soul, celebrated for turning personal adversity into deeply human, resonant art. Victoria is known for writing from lived experience. Born without her right forearm (amniotic band syndrome), raised across multiple countries, and openly queer, she often writes about identity, vulnerability, and belonging.
“DOG.” fits into her catalog as one of her most emotionally naked songs — similar in spirit to “Drama” and “Swan Song,” but even more self‑critical. It features a dramatic cameo by actor Simon Pegg.

INJI
“Istanbul (slightly different)
@injiverse
inji.com
Taking the EDM, electro-pop, superlame world by storm is INJI, with two I’s. INJI (real name İnci Gürün) is a Turkish‑born, Philadelphia‑based singer‑songwriter who exploded onto the global pop scene in 2022 with her viral hits “Gaslight” and “Madeline.” She blends dance‑pop, electro‑pop, club beats, jazz influences, and cheeky, irreverent lyricism, making her one of Gen Z’s most exciting new pop voices. She hit our radar with her song “U WON’T” off her 2025 Mixtape Album “SUPERLAME.”. “Istanbul” is from that album. This is the “slightly different” version, as the original version on the album unfortunately did not get the legal permission with a sample used in the original version of the song. Original or “slightly different”, it is still a great and personal song from INJI.
You can listen to both versions of the song if you’re interested. Click Here for the original version. The “Slightly different” version in below with the video posted.
