MUSICALLY INFLUENCING THE FUTURE WITH THE PAST.

In this edition of Expand Your Playlist, we take a musical trip to the past while firmly staying in the future as we discover and explore a new genre of music that recreates and pays tribute to sounds of the past.
The music in this playlist features the nostalgic sounds from the 50s, 60s, & 70s soul, funk, doowop, jazz, and pop eras, which comes to us from recent bands and artists from the 2010s and 2020s. The style of the music is categorized as “Oldies”, but they are recently recorded and released, which make them indie new music, or “Newies”.
Straying from our usual Indie music selections, this playlist evokes a sense of nostalgia and presents an intriguing musical genre to delve into. We invite you to embark on this journey with us, affectionately dubbed “Oldies But Newies.”
We hope you enjoy this playlist. If you do, let us know. Join us on this journey as we take a left turn and continue to help you… Expand your Playlist.
Hello everyone! I’m Ed from Expand Your Playlist. Join me as I navigate the vast online world and music algorithms in search of new sounds. Nine years into this quest, I’m dedicated to discovering underplayed artists, independent talents, and new tracks that deserve airtime. My goal is to Expand My Playlist without charging for inclusion or excluding based on follower count. Our playlists are more than just a collection of songs for views, likes, or streams. They are thoughtfully compiled on Spotify and through our blog posts, offering you, the listener, an exceptional playlist experience to uncover new music and, in turn, Expand Your Playlist!
Thank You and Enjoy!
