Shallow Honey’s “The Bear” is a snarling, sugar‑coated alt‑rock jam that fuses their gritty, feminist‑driven sound with cheeky storytelling. The Brighton four‑piece spin the viral question “Would you rather be in the woods with a bear or a man?” into a sharp, riot‑grrrl‑style rant about women’s safety and fragile masculinity. Produced with Jake Stanton at Big Fig Studio and mastered by Katie Tavini, the track shifts from playful imagery to a pointed takedown of men who responded defensively to the debate, all wrapped in the band’s trademark blend of fuzzy bass, big riffs, and theatrical flair.

In describing their song, they write, ““The Bear” explores the internet’s favourite question: “Would you rather be in the woods with a bear or a man?”. What starts as a tongue‐in‐cheek love song to the now‐iconic hypothetical bear, quickly unravels into a razor‐sharp riot grrrl rant, taking aim at the men who became inexplicably furious and defensive over the conversation meant to highlight the safety issues faced by women and girls.”
